Description
This 3 Minute Fudge is a quick, foolproof treat made with simple ingredients like semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Perfectly smooth, rich, and customizable, it’s a no-fuss dessert that sets in just 2 hours.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups (18 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving overhang for easy removal. Lightly butter the lining to prevent sticking.
- Combine main ingredients: Place chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Use a glass bowl for even heating.
- Microwave strategically: Microwave on high for 1 minute, stir thoroughly, then return to microwave in 30-second intervals until completely smooth (about 90 seconds total).
- Add flavor enhancers: Stir in vanilla extract and salt while the mixture is still warm. If adding nuts, let the mixture cool slightly before folding them in.
- Pour and set: Pour the molten fudge into the prepared pan, smoothing the surface with a silicone spatula. Tap the pan gently on the counter to release air bubbles.
- Cool and cut: Let the fudge cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Once firm, lift from the pan using the parchment overhang and cut into 1-inch squares.
Notes
For a less sweet fudge, swap semi-sweet chocolate chips for dark chocolate. Coconut condensed milk works as a dairy-free alternative. Clean cuts can be achieved by wiping your knife with a warm, damp cloth between slices.
